Sachin Gupta

 Professionally Sachin Gupta is a qualified software engineer. By passion he is qualified to dream big and contribute positively and continuously in the field of Theatre. He has explored all fields of theatre and stage production; written and directed 12 plays addressing various sensitive and important social issues, even through musicals and comedy productions. While on his mission to contribute positively in the arena of theatre, he has trained more than 150 actors in various acting workshops under the theatre academy he began.

While working as an Artistic Director in the Chilsag Chillies Theatre Company Sachin Gupta has also been editing a theatre magazine – Theatre Pasta – that has consistently interviewed prominent theatre personalities from across the world and made it available even on the net to reach a wider readership. With pursuit of works of the masters Sachin went to the UK to do research on Shakespeare and also did a case study on Theatre Company American Repertory Theatre . Sachin also studied theatre at Lee Strasberg,New York & at Fanshawe College, Canada. He has also learned nuances of Shakespearean acting at the prestigious Emerson College in US. In acknowledgement of his continued work he has received letters of positive feedback for social themed plays from the President of India & an award from conferred on him by Sheila Dikshit on behalf of Balwant Ray Society in India.

Like many before him Sachin’s sojourn into theatre started when he was 12 yrs old, and studying in a school where his talent was appreciated. As soon as he could Sachin took his passion for performing arts around the world working as an Actor, Director & Playwright and has done more than Sixty five shows including his award winning play ‘Celebration of life’ , ‘Handicapped City’ & ‘Kailashnath weds Madhumati’ which he staged at Off-Broadway,NewYork recently for which he got huge appreciation amongst theatre lovers in NewYork.

He has written & directed Twelve theatre productions so far which includes Celebration Of life, Suicide is Painless, Handicapped City, Great Mind at Work, No Cheating Today, Don’t miss my Party, Devil’s Carnival, Live Telecast, Next Indian Idol, Kailashnath Weds Madhumati, A Roller Coaster Ride, and Wake Up Call. . . .
